PPCC: Volunteers Wanted for a Fun Time!

Pikes Peak Community College Sign Language Interpreting Program will be hosting a 4 day immersive learning event for the interpreting interns, from April 18 – April 21, called Situational Learning Week. 

In order to create a successful experience we need volunteers: Essentially we are creating short scenarios that are based on what the students may encounter in the field of interpreting after graduation. What we need from you is time and a tiny touch of acting skill. 

For an quick example, one scenario might be a parent interviewing a prospective new babysitter.  You might be asked to play the part of the parent or the prospective babysitter.  There will be at least 1 deaf and 1 hearing volunteer in each scenario.
