Hello!
For decades I have been a mediator for the Department of Justice ADA situations. It is my passion to make sure that persons with disabilities have equal access to public accommodations. I also have a love of music. It is my belief that some deaf persons still enjoy musical performances… to feel the vibrations, to view the performers, and to participate in the social excitement and energy of such events.
There is a men’s a cappella group in the Louisville/Lafayette that is famous not only here, but internationally. They have been together for 23 years. They perform regularly every month at a local venue in the evening. They are keen about having deaf persons come using ASL interpreters provided at the venue. They would provide words to each song in advance for the interpreters. I have spoken with the owner of the venue. He is not opposed to the concept.
In order to complete a presentation to the owner, I want to be able to show that there are 2 or 4 or 6 deaf persons who want to come. That is where I am at now. I want to be in contact with persons who would be excited by this opportunity.
Serious music lovers only, please. Thank you!
